No doubts, a bar menu is a great piece of the venue’s identity. These days the role a cocktail list plays goes to the lengths of even being an award category. So, what makes a great cocktail menu? Given the amount of time and resources that go into the creation of a new menu its lifespan seems minimal and often aimed at generating PR and buzz rather than creating value and catering for the business it fits. In this seminar, we discuss the different areas that go into building a new menu with the participation of a variety of global bar industry experts. Looking at how each phase of the development responds to a different purpose of a bar’s project and how it delivers against tangible business objectives - from concept to R&D, design and communications, each area needs to be weighted and curated according to the venue, the brand and the customers it caters for. Moderated by Danil Nevsky, this seminar expands on Indie Bartender’s educational mission and its recently launched Cocktail Menu Collection project, a free 200+ (constantly adding) database of cocktail menus collected all over the world to provide bartenders with guidance and inspiration around cocktail menu building.
